Nowadays maximum of us are users of different kinds of media. So, the media is an integral part of our lives. During this period, the media is having a huge impact on our daily lives. 

It's doubtful whether there's another area that has such an impact on our daily lives. It's the media today that decides our lifestyles and indeed our opinion on a subject. Unknown to us, we're becoming their consumer goods. 

The reality is that each of us, intentionally or unintentionally, falls into a vast world where the media opens up before us. Thus, we can not distinguish between reality and myth.

Let us examine how the negative influences are exerted by some of the media with which we are familiar.

• Advertisement

Advertisement is a vital part of any product or service today. Billions worth of business is going in the world every day through advertising. Similar advertisements have a profound effect on our lives. It has fostered a consumer culture in the world. 

Advertisements can portray even a bad thing as good and have a decisive influence on what we buy, what we eat, and what we wear. Whether we realize it or not, advertising plays an important part in our choices. 

However, we're often able to find our requirements through advertising. Therefore, while advertising is an essential area, the marketing tactics behind it typically affect our independent choices. We need to be able to make a prudent decision not to rely solely on advertising in our purchases.

• News

News is an integral part of our lives. Today, every event that happens in the world, big or small, has the potential to reach us in an instant. News reaches us through different media like print, electronics, and online.

Everyone wants to know the news that's trustworthy and valuable. The emergence of digital platforms like social media is having a huge impact in this area. Currently, anyone can spread any kind of news. 

In a way, this is an advantage but often similar news is far from the truth. 

The news typically turns out to be biased. It's doubtful whether the right news is regularly received even from credible platforms. Thus, similar news frequently becomes a barrier to reaching the right conclusions. 

Typically similar media put their agenda on the viewer or the reader. For ordinary people, this tendency confuses them and affects their capability to make independent opinions. So, we need to extract the difference between reality and the myth that lurks in the news.

• Movies and Series

Movies or series (web series, TV series) are some of the most important pastimes in our lives. More than just entertainment they have a huge impact on our society. Movies and series also play a huge part in shaping a particular fashion culture in society. We are becoming victims of such a culture. 

We get inspiration for numerous effects from films and use it for good and for bad. In addition to giving good messages, movies and series also give bad messages to society.

Sometimes films trivialize or justify crimes, this will only make effects worse for the new generation who blindly adore the cinema characters and actors. Motivated by similar effects, at least a sprinkle of people in this generation has a penchant for committing crimes. 

Some movies and series among us don't trivialize the bad and promote the good. Thus, it's imperative to mature in the enjoyment of cinema.

• Social Media 

Social media is a digital platform that's being used by a lot of people and making an impact on society very rapidly. Although there are numerous positive aspects, social media is a medium that's being abused a lot. 

It's also a place of gossip and inflation. Therefore, the credibility of social media is a big question mark. Indeed a small section of society can be misled by the anecdotes on social media. 

This platform has a lot of advantages and can be dangerous if not handled wisely. 

Although all these platforms are useful to us, they can have a very wrong impact due to their abuse. Thus, we need to discern the right and wrong that are being propagated through similar platforms.
